An aquarist with a keen interest in catfish, characins, and rainbowfishes, Hans-Georg Evers is an accomplished speaker with over 12 books on the aquarium hobby and 700 articles published to date in the industry. He currently is the chief editor of the German aquarium magazine, AMAZONAS and will be a guest speaker at this year’s Aquatic Experience.
Evers will be giving a presentation on Collecting Ornamental Fishes in the Rio Madre de Dios Peru. Accompanied by beautiful pictures, firsthand information about Evers’ experiences with tons of information about the hardly known species of catfish, tetras, and others known to reside in the Southern region of Peru, this talk is sure to be packed with exciting information about how to collect fish properly from nature and how to create the proper tank environment for them to thrive and excel.
His second presentation, In Search of the Clown Loach Chromobotia macracanthus, will feature information and knowledge from Evers’ travels to the Indonesian Sunda islands of Sumatra and Borneo with a special focus on biotopes, methods of fishing, and captive breeding information of the clown loach. This talk will be geared towards trade people with excellent information on these ever-popular aquarium fish and the natural biotopes of their place in the ornamental fish industry but will include excellent information for aquarists of all kinds, beginners and advanced.
